Four principles of organic agriculture
- The principle of health: organic agriculture should consider the health of humans, animals, plants, soil and the planet as a whole and as an inseparable whole and try to protect it.
- The principle of care: organic agriculture must ensure the health and well-being of the current generation with a sense of responsibility and observing the necessary precautions in order to preserve the environment and ecosystem for future generations, in other words, do not sacrifice the future of the planet today.
- The principle of ecology: organic agriculture should be designed based on natural ecosystems and in accordance with the functioning of its cycles. so as to strengthen natural ecosystems, help ecological balance by creating habitats and strengthening biodiversity.
- The principle of fairness: The emphasis of this principle is that those who are involved in organic agriculture should guide human relations in a way that respects justice and fairness for all members involved in the work, farmers, workers, processors, traders. Consumers should be assured.
Basic regulations of organic production in crops
- Organic seeds and plant materials should be used.
If organic seeds and plant materials are not available, common seeds that are not prohibited in organic farming should be used.
Fertilizers should be used in a way that protects soil, water and biodiversity.
- The use of organic fertilizers containing human waste in thermal products is allowed in organic agriculture.
-Agriculture should use physical barriers and protective areas (by fencing the agricultural area to prevent farm animals from entering the agricultural area) to prevent organic farm pollution.
All equipment and machinery of organic agricultural processes must be cleaned of all materials that may be contaminated before being used in organic farms.
